Today's post

Anyone who has read more than a few of my blog posts knows that I have been trying to get adsense working for my blog for a long time. Like, two years at least. You would think that it would be super easy, since google owns both adsense and blogger. Nope. This has been a crap-ton of work.

When I figured out what was wrong with the Url, I created a blog with that url and figured that would be good. Then it told me that I didn't have enough text on there. So I put up two crap posts. And it still told me the same thing. So, today I will be copy-pasting several of my posts from this blog to that one. I mean, I own the posts, so it shouldn't matter, right? And I'm going to take the blog down in a bit, so I'm not really worried. Bleh. Google needs to get its crap straightened out.

In other news, I had a fun weekend. I got to ride my bike a ton and play my ukulele until my fingers hurt. Last night, I went to choir practice at our church with my friend, Sarah, because she and I have speaking parts in the Easter performance. Then, afterwards we stopped by a friends house to say hi and look at the room that had been re-done in her home. Finally, we went to Wal-Mart and did some shopping for Easter.

Sarah and I teach the first and second (and sometimes third) grade sunday school class at our church. So, we have some  easter-y activities that we have planned for the next couple of sundays. We went to shop for stuff for those and little treat bags to give them on easter. I was also running out of coffee, so I bought a little thing of Folgers because its cheaper and lasts longer than k-cups in our keurig machine. And going to walmart with a friend (and at 8:00 at night) is always fun.

Almost exactly a year ago

I posted this on my other blog almost exactly a year ago. In  a lot of ways, my life hasn't really changed that much, except now I go to college instead of high school and  I don't see people that often because I don't leave the house much. Oh, and that talent show performance went great. I did "Some Nights" by FUN and I got a standing ovation, which I didn't know until I got backstage and they told me. Which is crazy. thelife-lizardgirl.blogspot.com

I would do some crazy april fools day prank, but I'm too lazy.

So far, this month is starting off very dreary and rainy. The sky is cloudy and bleak. Yesterday it rained and hailed. I know that rain on easter sunday is normal, but hail?

When I got home after the performance on thursday, I was handed an envelope. I opened it to find a letter and a certificate. About three or four months ago I entered two of my poems into a contest. I didn't expect to win anything, but I figured it couldn't hurt to enter. In the envelope was a letter explaining that I had done very well in the contest and I had won not honorable mention, not a silver key, but a gold key. The actual award is supposed to come in the mail sometime soon. All I have for now is the certificate. I didn't win at the national level, but I did advance to that level. I think I should get some kind of cash reward, but I don't. At least I know I'm a good poet though.

A little while ago, Lois Lowry came out with a new book in The Giver series. I read The Giver when I was in like fifth grade, and it was really great. Probably about a year ago I found and read Gathering Blue and Messenger, which are the two books that continue the story. Kind of. Then, I found the new book, Son, and I began reading it on thursday night. I am about half through with it now. It is much longer than the other three books, but it is absolutely fantastic. I hope that it finishes up the story nicely and connects everything.

Auditions are today for the talent show. I am scared to death because I still haven't decided on a song. I have a CD of one that I can do just in case, but I have been wanting to do one with my Ukulele. I brought it just in case, along with my binder of music. I keep looking through it thinking that the right song will just pop out at me. My mom suggested that I do "Some Nights" by FUN, but I would have to edit the lyrics a bit. I would love to do the song "Finding Something To Do" by Hellogoodbye, but the chords are a little too complicated for me to perform without music. I thought about "Good Time" by Owl City, but I don't care for the song that much. Theres "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been" by Relient K also, but I don't feel like thats the song that I want to do. "Me Without You" by TobyMac is a good one, but I don't know all the words that well. My song on a CD is "Can You Feel It" by Family Force 5. I really don't know what I'm going to do. I want to play my ukulele, but I also want to be able to dance around on the stage, which I can't do if I play my ukulele.GRRRRRF. I guess I'll know by the time auditions start.

A post from 2012

2012 doesn't seem that long ago, but here is a post from December of that year on my other blog. I think that not a lot has changed. I mean, this seems like just a couple months ago, not a year and a half ago. thelife-lizardgirl.blogspot.com:

I have been rather lazy the last few days. I have gotten things done in my laziness, but I was lazy  nonetheless.

I started editing the "Zombie" music video using PowerDirector on Christmas. We didn't have as many places to go as we normally do, so I had some free time. I worked on it yesterday and today also, so I am about half way done. I thought I was more than 3/4 done, but it turns out I had somehow been missing part of the audio track, so I went back and re-downloaded it and I am half way done.

I love PowerDirector as far as the editing aspect. There are so many different things you can do to make a video look how you want it to look. However, I wish it had better titles and credits. It only has like four title options and none for credits. I think I'll just finish the video, then bring it into movie maker to add in the title and credits.

I also plan on having a video commentary explaining different parts. Basically, I'll turn on my webcam and film my comments and reactions as I watch the finished video.

I have started writing a book. My brother is really bad at setting up things like the Xbox and Wii and DVD player, so I am making a short book for him. That way, when I go off to college, I know he will be able to do these things himself. I have about nine pages so far in Microsoft Word. Of course, that includes the title page and table of contents, and a lot of the book is just a skeleton outline so far.

I have started on this thing called a "smash book" that I got for christmas. Basically, it is a scrapbook of messiness and random stuff. It doesn't have to be perfect, and you can record whatever you want in it. I plan to post some pictures of it on here soon. It is not something that you just sit down and do, then be finished with. It is an ongoing project to help you keep up with your memories.

My grandpa got me a caligraphy set for Christmas. I think its rather cool, but it will require some practice to get good at it. I guess I'll use it to write a letter to him someday or something like that.

We have a fancy one-cup-at-a-time coffee maker now. It makes really good coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. It should make it easier and faster to make coffee on school mornings too. My mom said there is a chance I might get one of my own when I go off to college. That would be amazing.

Well, I'm going to go get some food or coffee or something. Goodbye for today!

Love,
Elizabeth W.

More Than One Post?

Should I have more than one post? I guess so. It will probably help me.

I'm a college student.

I spend a lot of time reading and doing homework and being on youtube and my phone and tumblr and playing the ukulele and singing.

I really don't like politics and I hate arguing because I don't consider myself very good at it.

I'm terrible at remembering things.

I really like coffee.

I'm totally a nerdfighter.

I prefer texting to phone calls.

I'm extremely introverted.

I consider myself a pro-life conservative christian feminist.

What The Heck

This is not meant to be my normal blog. Which is stupid. Maybe this will be one that I make invisible in a little while and then use after college.

Currently, I blog daily on another blog (thelife-lizardgirl.blogspot.com) and I love it. I blog almost every weekday.

And i've been wanting to start up an adsense account and make a teensy bit of pocket change for a while now. And I put up an application and whatnot. And for a year and a half, every time I try, I get rejected. Yesterday, I actually read the email that they send for rejection all the way through.

Turns out that I had put the wrong web address. I'm a dunce.

So, in order to finish making the account, I have to have a blog at that address ( because google is kind of stupid that it won't let you change the web address before you have an adsense account) with actual content on it. So, here you are! Just random crap put up on a page. Maybe this will finally let it go through.
